Who am I?

I've been thinking lately about a lot of topics that I have also had trouble with. There is one topic that from time to time does bother me and I know that it might bother some other people too.

Insecurities. We all have them. We are afraid of what people may think of us, even if we don't say it out loud. It's OK and we don't mind while they say good things about us, but when someone says something bad, now that's a whole different story.
Insecurities arise when we don't know who we are, and we let the opinion of others influence us in such a way that we will be become what others want us to be. But as a Christian the only opinion that should matter in my life, should be God's opinion. And how do we know his opinion? His word. There are a lot of examples of how God wants us to behave. In Romans 12 it says:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
And it goes on about how our character should be. The point is we aren't supposed to be people pleasers, but God pleasers. The Lord should be our motivation to be good people, to do good to others, to forgive, to act correctly, and to love. He is constantly watching over us, even when we don't need to pretend because there are others around, He is there. He knows our deepest darkest secrets, he knows when we sin, before we did. He knows us better than we know ourselves and even then He decided to die on that Cross for us.

We feel insecure, ugly, worthless, but think about it, The KING decided to leave it all to show us a way. He decided to take our sin, be humiliated in front of everyone, and killed with the most dishonorable way that existed in those times, just for us. Now tell me, do you still feel worthless? Do you still think that what the ones around you think matter, and what God thinks doesn't?

My friends, I would like for you to take a moment today, and think about what you are and who you are pleasing. Then I would like for you to take that and surrender it all to God. because He knows what he wants you to become. And I'm sure that if you decide to please Him, it's probably not going to be easy, but it will be worth it.

Today I want to encourage you to read your bible, find out what God wants of you, and pray that He will bring you there. Be a God pleaser!

God Bless you and be a blessing to others.
